This evening we explored some of the Siuslaw and Smith River road system. You can enter the area from Highway 126 at the Whitaker Creek exit. Another easy access is via Wolf Creek Road in Crow Oregon. While exploring this area you will travel along side different creeks and rivers. You will also see recently forested areas, newly planted areas, and full forest areas as you continue to wind around in the forest.

We ended up boondocking at Oxbow Summit for the open view. You can get there by following this map link from Crow Oregon, via Wolf Creek road, arriving in the Oxbow Summit area in about 45 minutes. Along the summit road there are various pull off spots with open views of the mountains. During the summer months you can find open campgrounds. If you want a fun day drive, or if your goal is to camp and stay a few nights in the forest, we recommend exploring this area.
